Quantum Threats to EVM Chains: Can They Be Secured?

Good article for a deep dive on the challenges faced with making the cryptography upgrades that all systems will need to implement.

A handful of projects have been emphasizing the importance of protecting assets with post quantum cryptography. Here are some updates:

QANX completed audit of it's virtual machine- enabling smart contracts to be created using nearly all programming languages. Xlink audit due any day- This allows hybrid/cross-signing with PQC using existing evm wallets like metamask and trust. Recent news includes Ueno bank using the SignQuantum solution (powered by Qanplatform) and joining Blockchain for Europe. CTO to speak on Dec 3

QRL continues project Zond development and testing. Added Bitmart exchange and saw significant price movement before retreating over the last few weeks. ETA on Zond audit/delivery is still not known, but this aims to create evm compatibility and move the chain to proof of stake.

CELL continues to decline significantly after a surge back in Jan. There appear to be some reasons that could be sorted out, but don't have all the details. Requires some deeper digging for those wanting to know.

A project called NAORIS shows up in the cmc list now as well. Was quite volatile to start. Claims it can provide post quantum security to existing chains, which based on the shared article would not seem to be a one size fits all solution, nor very straight forward. Gaining consensus from any project on how to move forward is the biggest challenge.

As always, people will mention projects like HBAR, SOL, ETH, ALGO which have talked about how they might transition, but none have implemented post quantum digital signatures in their projects. Also note while QANX is listed as having built for PQC, it is still in audit phase and an estimated mainnet date is expected any day now.
