Is it best to just stay away from memecoin trading?

I am 20 and a full time stem student so I don’t have a job since my number one priority is school and don’t want to risk falling behind in case work takes up my time. Instead I just recently got into crypto and saw meme coin trading but I know most people just lose money instead of gaining money. I also know most people who say they get rich are just lying about their gains. So would it be best to just stay away from meme coins and instead just continue to invest in stable coins and coins that actually seem to have a future planned?
