New to cold wallets, is the ledger flex good for a first cold wallet?

Looking to buy a cold wallet and after doing research the ledger flex seems like a good one to buy that’s user friendly, also seems easier to understand than most wallets. Would anyone recommend anything different?……

Second option would be the trezor safe 5. I see this one is also very popular.

One thing I see it the ledger needs to be updated constantly, is there any sort of notification for this or do you just need to be checking ledger live for when the updates are ready to be installed.

Any sort of feedback would be nice I am new to cold wallets but want to hold the keys to my crypto.
