Simple way to manage Employee Bonuses paid in crypto?
I'm considering paying my 2 employees bonuses which are then invested in crypto.
Is there an easy, compliant way to manage their crypto investments without going through the complexity of an LLC account? I will not assume custody of their assets as that doesn't make any sense from a tax or legal standpoint. It may seem like more trouble than it's worth, but I thought I'd ask.
I know the option of having an LLC account at Coinbase or Kraken, is there an easier way? I see Kraken says individual accounts do not allow manager access.
The most obvious is to have them open their own account, then send funds to a private wallet address, where the manager (myself) could then access the wallet and make trades on UNI or Cetus or wherever.
The problem is getting these people to check an email is a major task, they are not office workers. They could never keep track of a coinbase or kraken account. They don't have IRA's or anything like that where I could recommend crypto related stocks. The purpose is for annual returns this year, and next, not long term retirement account type investing.
The main concern with anything like this is inexperienced account holders leaking their info, getting hacked and assuming it was your doing, damaging the relationship, which would not be worth the risk.
Is there a simple solution to this? Thanks!
