DAO Question

This is very random, but I need some advice. I work for a blockchain and my coworker started a DAO a few years ago. It is built on top of the blockchain we work for, but it’s not affiliated/endorsed by the blockchain. He does work for this DAO during work hours and promotes the DAO during company sponsored events. Our company has a policy as to where we cannot be actively involved with any other business that’s competitive with the company’s business activity nor employed by any other business or employer. Does him creating/running/promoting this DAO during company time go against this clause? I’m not well versed in DAO’s, so I want to clarify.
