Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has made its second-largest single Bitcoin purchase ever, acquiring 1,004 BTC for approximately $104.6 million on May 19, 2025. This brings its total Bitcoin holdings to 7,800 BTC, valued at around $807 million. The purchase follows a similar move on May 12, where it bought 1,241 BTC, surpassing El Salvador in Bitcoin holdings. Metaplanet is now the largest Bitcoin holder among public companies in Asia and ranks tenth globally.
