Is blockdag a scam?

Ladies, gentlemen, those who identify otherwise I'm in need of advice. Mining pi currently and was so late to that party it's sad! Been looking into mining monero on a couple of old smart phones too (no issues with burning them out had my money's worth) during my research I've come across blockdag…. Was almost convinced until a phone warning before downloading set off alarm bells! Also named as a Blockchain after a previous algorithm? What's everyone's take on it? One part of me doesn't want to miss out like I did… The other side screams scam and potentially malware that could cause havoc. I'm not from a coding background I'm in construction. Have been learning to use the block chains but the coding that goes into them is a mystery!
