Can some give me a run down on what’s been happening with ETH and the ETH foundation and it’s current overall state

So i just got some ETH after doing some reading etc.. what the hell is going on with ETH's price? I bought a couple because it's below 2000 and hoping that it will hit 4000 again sometime this year… but what's the story with the ETH foundation and the way how they are handling the current stagnant situation? its been performing poorly compared to its peers (BTC, SOL)..
