Do all the affordable, air-gapped wallets suck?

I'm looking for an affordable, air-gapped, open-source hardware wallet.

It seems they all suck. Keystone3 has battery issues. Ellipal is Chinese and doesn't have open-source firmware updates.

Do I really need to spend $400 to get a decent one?
