I would like to make my final year university project related to Ethereum but I’m struggling to think of ideas
Specifically, my supervisor has instructed me that my project has to be related to the theme of cryptoeconomics and "to analyse and extract information about the strategic behaviour of users and miners to help with the design of more efficient market-regulating mechanisms". More specifically, it was suggested that I could do a project on PBS but this is a suggestion more than a rule.
That being said, past year's projects have related to credit ratings, fraud detection and someone else this year is doing a project on the correlation of cryptocurrency prices to traditional finance indicies (I was thinking of proposing this but it appeard too simple).
I had proposed the building of a basic MEV bot but I'm not sure if this would be too complex an undertaking over 2 semesters (6 months) and my supervisor didn't have a lot to say as this was an area that he wasn't too familiar with. Furthermore, while the project isn't prohibited and I won't lose marks or anything, there was the idea that the project would be a bit more research oriented and this is more on the developer side. One thing my supervisor mentioned is that novelty isn't a requirement and if I were to proceed with this project, I don't need a crazy original strategy.
I have a few other ideas too: Something to do with climate i.e. comparing emissions of various currencies or investigating the environmental effect of the Ethereum merge.
I hope that makes sense, I'd appreciate any feedback on the feasibility of the above ideas and if you guys had any suggestions of your own.
