BTC vs BTC ETF?

Hi all, I wanted to come here to the community to ask which would be better for a family member to put money into. The person being a not so savvy investor looking at building for their retirement, and “setting it and forgetting it” for 20+ years. They’re leaning toward an ETF because they feel more secure there.

I wanted to ask here to see if there’s anything I might be missing when explaining it to them.

What are the downsides to BTC directly for this type of person versus a BTC ETF?
