Why is ETH falling behind?

It seems ETH isn't keeping pace with BTC anymore. Why. I feel dumb cuz I dropped 8k in 2021 and it hasn't gone up at all. It's not a good long term investment. Everyone keeps saying hold on, crypto is about to explode, but it simply doesn't. Hell even online banks offer 5.5% on their Savings account and that's paid in cash every month. I'd be up like 2k by now, SMDH
