Polygon +12 Hour Outage! Anyone know how or why?

Okay this is absolutely crazy, but basically the word around crypto twitter is that layer 2 blockchain Polygon has been down for at least 12 hours today! This isn’t the first time, and not the only layer 2 to go down recently. Blast recently had an outage, same for Base (2 in past 6 months IIRC). Seems like L2s are super flawed and can’t run properly despite being centralized with a single sequencer and controlled by a multi-sig. I didn’t think this could be possible, but somehow it is?

Also, why is no one reporting on this? Crazy that no media publication has written about this.
