Thoughts on Tezos

I‘m definitely no expert and sometimes the technical stuff is hard to understand for someone who isn’t a programmer. I’m just an artist interested in transformative processes and have raging adhd, which made me fall into the crypto rabbithole.

From my understanding Tezos is such an excellent project, this thing is not about making quick money, it’s about offering practical use for society, it’s about accessibility, about inclusiveness and democratic values, that are decentralized, open source and not controlled by governments or companys. It’s adaptive nature makes it sustainable because it constantly can integrate new developments, and therefore never „gets old“.

I was thinking it could be the future of political elections as it’s proof of stake mechanism is used for voting: Stakers indirectly vote for updates on the blockchain, bakers directly vote, which – on a large scale – could provide people with a basic income while without the danger of surveillance by a government. It’s designed to be inclusive, has low fees, is fast and it’s easy to participate in the voting processes, as the staking minimums are very affordable (at least at the moment). So updates on the blockchain are decided decentralized and by the community. It has the capability to transform and constantly update itself through participation. It’s also really interesting from a cultural standpoint, it supports artists, gamers and makes new cultural developments accessible. I think there are more things that are great about Tezos, but this are the ones that I like the most.

I don’t understand much about the exact coding, but have the impression that it can easily compete with the ethereum network or other popular altcoins in general.

Maybe someone with better technical understanding can talk about this in a more elaborate way or someone can point out the flaws in a way a technical noob can understand. But I just wanted to share this viewpoint. I’m really excited for what the future brings.
