Why are some coins not in MC order on CMC, even when sorted by MC?

I’ve been looking at buying some coins/tokens and using CMC to compare information etc. I’ve noticed there are some coins that aren’t in MC order? For example, TAO is position #205 on cmc, despite having a MC between ATOM (#25) and STX (#29)?

So, as the title says, why are some coins not in the correct MC order on cmc? What’s going on here? It’s in the correct order on CoinGecko for example.

Disclaimer: not saying I will be buying TAO (this isn’t a shill), but it’s an example of a coin/token not being in correct MC order on CMC?
