As a new blockchain developer, why would you pick Ethereum over Solana?
There’s a lot to be said when it comes to discussing Ethereum vs Solana, but one thought that struck me recently is how new developers coming into the space would orient themselves.
Say you’re a new developer wanting to build something. On the one hand you have the Ethereum ecosystem with a plethora of different L2 solutions. Optimism, Polygon, Arbitrum, etc. Who do you pick? How do they differ, and who will still be around in 3 years? Compare that to Solana where you have a single chain that’s cheaper and faster. Why would any developer opt to go for Ethereum?
Note that Solana has their own fundamental challenges, but looking at it from the perspective of a developer, I wonder what I’m missing in terms of what Ethereum can offer those looking to build future applications that Solana doesn’t already do better.
Insight appreciated.
