What are mev bots?

I found a wallet on etherscan with tons of transactions to a wallet with the tag "MEV BOT". From what I can gather it's some kind of trading bot but it only has transactions depositing money in. How is that possible? Wouldn't a trading bot be making tons of buys and sells?
