So today I was casually browsing through my instagram feed as usual, and this ad caught my eye.

I clicked to learn more, only to find myself on the website of a trustworthy, renowned financial giant in Brazil.

This is what they are promising (I am translating from Portuguese to English):

//

> DEFI PROTOCOL

> This cryptocoin costs just R$3.00 (about USD0.60)

> But it's programmed to raise up to R$300.00 in the next months (about USD60.00)

> Click Here to release the name of the cryptocurrency imediatelly

//

Now, it's one thing to see an ad like this coming from a wanna-be crypto guru from Tiktok. But it's a completely different thing when that advertisement actually comes from one of the TOP PLAYERS IN THE FINANCIAL AREA in Brazil.

To put things in perspective, I did some research on their stats. Looks at this. It's insane.

"The (company name) in numbers // Against data there are no arguments: the numbers prove how we are revolutionizing the financial industry // +12bi under custody (about USD 2.35 Billions), +110k active clients, +1000 investment options, +180 employees"

That campaign was not an isolated case. This is their modus operandi.

Look at the first thing you will see when you get to their homepage:

"10 thousand reais (about 2 thousand dollars) invested in this coin can make you millionaire// Check how to invest it"

So, is this happening in your countries too? Big companies using their trustworthiness to advertise crypto as a guaranteed investment?

As crypto is growing into the mainstream, this is exactly the kind of thing that we don't need right now.
