OneCoin – The biggest crypto billion-dollar scam

Today I read an article about September officially becoming the worst month in 2023 (so far) for crypto-related exploits — with a whopping $329.8 million in crypto stolen.

So I thought why not to remind you the biggest scam that happened in this crypto world, so you (newcomers) can be more cautious in next bull run cycle.

So, there was this "Cryptoqueen" named Ruja Ignatova who promised the moon with OneCoin back in 2014. People bought in, thinking they'd be crypto millionaires.

But here's the kicker: OneCoin wasn't even real! No blockchain, just a massive Ponzi scheme.

Then, Ignatova disappeared in 2017, and the truth came out. OneCoin had scammed folks out of $4.4 billion.

Legal action followed, and her brother got nabbed for money laundering and fraud.

Moral of the story: Be cautious, do your research, and remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
