Bitcoin Volatility Approaching Record Lows – A Truly Crabby Market

Bitcoin has been trading in an incredibly tight region as of late, even more so in the last 30 days.

The chart below shows the annualized realised volatility of BTC (red) vs Price (black). You can see that we are currently at near record lows of realised volatility. Historically, these points have been followed by periods of high volatility, so that may be in store next.

Bitcoin's average 30-day volatility is shown below, to put into context the fact that the current 30-day volatility is just 0.65%!

So according to historical data, this is a truly crabby market we find ourselves in!
It may be that this bear market sees most people drop out based on a time-based capitulation, rather than the harsh decreases in price. Either way, volatility probably isn't too far away, so hold tight 🙂
