What happens with DeFi if ETH hits 10k or 20k

Let's put on a big tank of Kramer-grade hopium on our backs and pretend that ETH hits 20k next year. I was thinking about how this would pretty much halt the DeFi because the fees would be insane. How insane?

If a swap on a DEX like Uniswap right now, costs somewhere around $10, and if we pretend that ETH is now 20k, that would make it $100+ just to swap your assets. What about bridging assets from ETH to L2? If I check Polygon Bridge, it costs $30 to bridge at the moment. If ETH hits my optimistic price, that bridge fees become $300, just to move assets from the main net? That's absurd.

I know that Ethereum is on it's way to lowering the gas fees with upcoming upgrades but still, can they actually bring the gas down so drastically? If it costs anything over a few cents to make a transaction, I don't think that we will have a mass-adoption like we hope for.
