Can we use smart contracts to remove the need for advance payments etc?

Like the trust will be inherent in the system and once both the buyer and seller approve of the transaction the payment can be made automatically; no need for the advance payment as the seller may defraud and run away with the money

Do u guys agree? And how else can Blockchain change commerce in your opinion?
