Do exchange addresses give a basic level of privacy?

Let's say someone wants to do a private, simple peer to peer transaction without the other party tracking the address it's sent from. If the crypto is sent from an exchange, like Binance, Coinbase, etc, does that effectively mask the sender's wallet?
