Do nodes track our ips?

I was told that L2 nodes track our ips, and after checking the source code for Arbitrum, as an example, I think this is correct. Does this happen with ethereum nodes too? Does that mean L2 nodes and ethereum nodes could theoretically match our ips with our addresses?

I don't really know much about nodes, maybe the payload is encrypted somehow so that the link ip to wallet address can't be made?
