Ripple just filed for Motion of Summary Judgement

Just saw this right now. From my understanding, Ripple filed for Motion of Summary Judgement as they feel the law is heavily on their side. They are asking the Judge to rule in their favor as a matter of law. This happened today just as we see the release of the emails so I am assuming there was enough evidence in those emails to make a Judgment in the Plaintiffs favor.

Just to be clear, I know very little about US law, and am trying my best to figure this all out but I also see that the SEC has filed a motion against the summary judgement, which I guess they will do no matter what. Any lawyers here to decipher all this and give us some sort of a timeline on how these events will now move forward.
