Swaping USDT to MATIC on ETH or Polgyon network?

I have about $200 in USDT on the Ethereum network in my metamask and want to swap them to MATIC before the zkEVM update on the 27th. Should I swap them on the Ethereum or Polygon network?

I know having them on Polygon network means lower gas fees for future transactions. So should there be any reason I keep them on Ethereum network? Would love some perspective.
