Albeit all the hype surrounding the visa announcement, how close are we in reality to implementing Account abstraction?

EIP 86 has gone stale, and EIP 4337 is still in the Draft stage even after more than a year. Would there be a renewed interest in any of these EIPs?

Alternatively, are there any other EIPs that propose novel ways for Account abstraction?
