Play to Earn has come to chess!
I decided to write this after reading a previous post discussing the viability of Web3 games, which stated that the problem was most weren't all that fun to play.
Part of the problem, based on my personal experience, is an uneven battlefield. In most P2E games, whales can often buy expensive assets that confer them a greater advantage in the game, with all things like skillset and gameplay understanding being equal.
During its peak, anyone that could afford a $500 popular Axie would do significantly better than someone else with a $50 Axie.
But what if a game had all players starting on a level playing field, with the NFTs only conferring them not a gameplay advantage – but an earning edge?
Immortal Games is a play-to-earn chess game that utilizes NFT chess pieces with quests attached to them, that players can accomplish to improve their earnings. The rules of the game are the same – the pieces moved as they always have for hundreds of years – the only difference is that the players have back-end quests only they can see to accomplish, adding dynamism to the game.
Good players can earn from a shared pool of $ETH, and $CMT rewards just by playing the oldest board game in the world. Those that want can buy Immortal's NFT chess pieces – Ageless and Immortal pieces – to multiply their earning potential.
