In all crashes, no CEO has never served sentence time nor did they fully pay the customers. Do you think this time it’s gonna be different?

EDIT: No CEO has ever

Mt. Gox

Mark Karpeles was arrested in 2015 and spent 11 months in custody (not prison per se), but it was not due to a sentence: they feared he could flee Japan. He came back to the industry this year with his company UnGox, aiming to assess the risk of crypto products, i.e. a rating agency. Before that he worked as a CTO for London Trust Media, based in Denver US. Broke a lot of people? Here's a nice job for you.

Bitconneeeeeeeeect

Satish Kumbhani is still free after being charged earlier this year. Customers are still to be paid.

Wassuuuup trivia: Carlos Matos currently has an youtube channel called “Partner With Carlos Matos”, where he gives insights and tips about personal development.

Celsius

Alex Mashinsky withdrew $10M weeks before declaring bankruptcy. Despite some investigations going on, he's enjoying his $50M net worth while others lost their life savings.

3AC

Su Zhu disappeared after the 3AC fiasco. He recently tweeted something about bad actors who attacked his company etc etc etc, but still owes $3.5B to 27 companies, as per the court documents. While the prosecution is still going, he's free to enjoy his life. Oh, and he had close ties with Do Kwon.

Voyager

Stephen Ehrlich made $30M by selling Voyager's shares in 2021. The firm had $1.3B in customer crypto assets and declared bankruptcy. He's up and running, enjoying his massive net worth.

Terraform Labs

We all know that Do Kwon is not on the run /s

This time is not going to be different

If Karpeles managed to come back with a new crypto-related company, I bet that the current CEO of this shitshow we're seeing will do something similar. Don't get your hopes too high.

It's infuriating and frustrating, though, because retail will always take the hit, regardless if on crypto or stocks. The whole system is rigged.
