Cutting one crypto off from your portfolio
Despite our varying financial circumstances, I think it’s safe to assume that many of us adopt the same mentality when it comes to investing in crypto. BTC and ETH are seen to be in a different league, so people tend to invest in them for the long haul, faithfully accumulating these two assets as much as they can and HODL-ing their portfolio, preferably to the end of time.
At the same time, some of us harbour hopes that our portfolio will benefit from the inclusion of coins that come with short term hype-driven price fluctuations. Case in point: LUNC. These coins belong to the “might moon” and “no risk no fun” category. There are micro caps that you place your bet on so that you can benefit from any unexpected pumps.
Of course, you have adhered to the first rule of crypto: never invest what you cannot afford to lose. But let’s say something drastic unexpectedly happens and swipes clean all your emergency funds. You desperately need cash flow to cover for the balance. You have no choice but to liquidate part of your crypto portfolio. Which crypto would you give up first, and why? Which crypto do you think possesses the least potential for growth?
