The Monetary Authority of Singapore has released consultation papers on proposed regulatory measures for (1) digital payment token services; (2) stablecoins; and (3) derivatives.

The payment tokens one includes a suggestion for retail education thresholds, and various precautionary operational proposals and disclosures for crypto exchanges/etc.

21 December is the close date for all three consultations.

Consultation Paper on Proposed Regulatory Approach for Derivatives Contracts on Payment Tokens

This consultation sets out MAS' proposed regulatory approach under the Securities and Futures Act for derivatives contracts that reference payment tokens (e.g. Bitcoin) as underlying assets.
