How do you chose what new projects to research?

There are currently over 10 000 crypto currencies, and clearly they're all not worth your time.

Everyone and their rich uncle is shilling some coin or other on the internet, but word of month is still one of the only real ways to get into a project early.

So how do you chose which projects to research further?

I usually wait until I hear a really interesting use case or really weird new technology before putting any time into researching something.

I'm a full time student so keeping this as a hobby investment has made it easier for me to regulate myself, but I definitely used to be one of those 'can't miss an opportunity, must research everything people' and it was super draining.

Do you read every new article? Are you done with new projects? Bitcoin maxing? Only checking out direct competition?
