Coinbase allows MATIC transfers direct to Metamask Polygon Mainnet

I wanted to share this just in case folks weren't already aware.

For quite a while now, I struggled to find an easy way to transfer MATIC to my Metamask wallet on the Polygon network. I was only able to send to the Ethereum mainnet and required a bridge. My research only found multiple step processes with unfavorable gas fees. I'm dealing with small transfers so I wasn't keen on paying more on gas fees than the amount I needed to transfer over. Further, I was not interested in buying $6 worth of MATIC for $10.

So today, I was was just going to eat the costs (gas fees) just so that I could get all my assets off Coinbase. As I was going through the process to send out my MATIC, it gave me the option to send across the Polygon network!!!! I feel this is a big win for Coinbase, since its been taking some spears lately.

I hope this helps someone in the community…. I definitely owe this sub for all the useful information I've been able to take advantage of.
