Staking without delegating custody

If I understood it well, it you don't want to run an Ethereum validator by your own, you can still stake by joining to any big player (like Kraken, etc).

But this way, you are not in control of your coins, you delegate the custody and you know what they say, NYKNYC.

Os there any way to stake coins without running a validator and without loosing control of your coins?
