Stop talking to people about crypto

I know the feeling of frustration when you can’t talk to anyone about crypto at all. It used to be very frustrating in the early investing days, but I’ve kind of gotten used to the lack of conversation.

That being said, I would highly advise that you don’t bring up or talk about anything crypto related to family, friends or coworkers unless you would fully trust that person with your money. I say this for several reasons.

1) Security: First and foremost is the fact that you don’t know what most peoples intentions are, and they could very easily get you with a $5 wrench attack when you let your guard down. Even worse, they could steal your seed phrase or passwords if you let them get too close.

2) Stress reducer: Congratulations, you successfully convinced Uncle Bobby and Cousin Dave to invest in ShitCoinInu. I’m sure they’ll be very happy with your advice when it is down 78% in 3 days. Don’t discuss financial advice with family. Please, whatever you do, don’t act a broker for a family member where you control their money. I haven’t heard of many stories like this ending well.

3) Eliminates embarrassment: We hear it everyday on this sub. “Everyone is a genius in a bull market.” Well, it doesn’t take a genius to notice that we are no longer in a bull market. This makes for very awkward conversations at the family Thanksgiving dinner if just last year you were pitching to all of your family members that you are going to get rich off crypto. Be prepared to answer the tough questions on that one.

4) Discussion with strangers: Finally, and maybe most importantly, why not just talk to strangers on Reddit about crypto? This is a great sub, and one that continues to grow. Of course you shouldn’t ever talk about any financial or personal information. And never reply to those pesky DM. If you do that, most of your crypto convo frustration may just disappear.
