Has anybody sold off their ETHW? Is it safe to do so?

Hello! I saw another thread about this, but everybody seemed to suggest doing the opposite of what I was considering… I'm a long term holder of ETH, with the bulk of it held in a ledger-protected wallet, but also a large chunk in Aave on Polygon, and a smaller emergency fund on CBP (I understand I'll likely never get any ETHW based on the holdings in the latter two).

I was planning on sending the ETHW I do have (ledger private wallet) to a fresh wallet, and from there to Kraken to dump. Is this safe? When we got ETC after the Dao fiasco way back when, I remember just selling it right away with no issues, but people seem much more concerned about ETHW.
