Noob asking: what are you staking? The market is really confusing

Right now I could invest ~$3000 and of course I want to hodl while staking.

This is what I see as my best options:

1. ETH with RocketPool: I must be able to trust RocketPools smart contracts, because I will have to change my rETH back to ETH later, right? Is it safe? Would you recommend Lido?
2. Does someone stake ETH on Kraken? I'm not sure about the rewards.
3. ADA in Exodus Wallet (I don't really trust browser wallets). Somebody wrote that they offer lower rewards than other pools, but I need a browser wallet to chose, is that true?
4. ??? What would you suggest? There are some with really high APY but I think most of them are gambling and / or highly inflationary.
5. ATOM seems to be the darling of this sub, but is that sustainable? How much do you guys get?
