USDC issuer, Circle ditches ETH POW and waits on ETH POS before pledging full support
USDC stable coin has become one of the largest dollar-pegged cryptocurrencies, created by the Circle team. Currently, Circle has announced its refute of other Ethereum POW versions, and will only continue to support Ethereum after it has successfully transitioned to the POS mechanism.
In addition, the Ethereum merge will transform the Ethereum POW blockchain into a POS network, similar to blockchains like Solana, and Polkadot as well as newer cryptocurrencies like Zetrix blockchain which uses cross-chain technology to facilitate smart contracts, scalability, and security.
According to Cointelegraph, not just USDC, but previously Chainlink blockchain had also retracted its support until after the merge. This isn’t to say the Merge may not be successful, but cryptocurrencies that operate using Ethereum's L2 solutions and smart contract capabilities are currently observing with caution until after the Merge.
Is Circle refuting support of Ethereum's POW hard forks to wait on the POS version?
