How to download the complete Ethereum blockchain?

Hello all,

I would like to conduct a content analysis of the Ethereum blockchain as part of a research project. Ideally, I download it so that I can explore the entire dataset using Bigdata methods. At this point my question: How would you proceed to download this almost 800 GByte and which tools are best suited for this?
