How would RVN have a “smart” layer?
Asking this mainly on a hypothetical level, to learn more about how the underlying technology of RVN works with regards to "smart" features offered by other blockchains like Ethereum and Algorand.
By design, Ravencoin eschews smart contracts or other similar forms of programmable transactions. With that being said, I feel like there are use cases where you may want or need such a feature. I was wondering if it would be hypothetically possible for this to occur, using RVN as the underlying asset to provide value. (Or in the case of NFTs, using an asset minted on the Ravencoin chain.)
To give an example, NFT games are one of the fastest growing sectors of the blockchain ecosystem, where RVN could one day play a much bigger role than today. In this scenario, the system that governs the rules of the game, not to mention the NFTs minted through it, have a logical layer that would need to be maintained and applied toward the RVN-backed assets.
My question is twofold: One, is this scenario theoretically possible? And two, if so, how would it work?
[Ed.: Originally referenced "other blockchains" in my first paragraph as ETH and ALGO; however, these are the coins minted on the blockchains, not the blockchains themselves.]
