Lowering the Staking Requirements

I'm curious if there has been any talk about lowering the staking requirements fom 32 eth. I recognize that there are pooling options, however, the ability for someone to run their own validation node without relying on any other party is a big factor in my opinion.

I know there is some vague idea that at some point in the future the requirement may be lowered, but is there anything concrete?
