Coinbase ETH Staking

I entered my exchange information into Koinly, and saw something that caught me by surprise. Before I knew better, I staked a little ETH on Coinbase, and when you do it says you are receiving ETH 2 in exchange. Koinly counted this as a taxable event, but it didn’t seem like one to me. Does it actually count as one, and will again when I get ETH back once it’s tradable?
