Tax implications of airdrop to protocol

What are the tax implications to OP labs for the recent Optimism airdrop? Presumably the 25% ecosystem fund would go to a wallet controlled by the company. Would that be taxable income to the business similar to how it is taxed for the individuals receiving it?
