Ravencoin Enabled Social Network?

This is something I thought of a couple days ago and just wanted to see what other people would think about it.

One of the features of the ravencoin network is that asset creators are able to send messages directly to anyone holding their tokens. The question popped into my head as to whether this feature could be used to create a blockchain alternative to social networks such as twitter? When someone follows someone elses profile they could receive a token created during the creation of the account and then any future "tweets" could be sent out directly to anyone who has followed said account and is holding one of that accounts tokens. Obviously, it would need to be a somewhat paid social network service to account for the Ravencoin transaction fees, but is there any reason why something like this couldn't feasibly be done?

Another question I had about the messaging feature on ravencoin is whether those messages are private or whether they would be accessible via the blockchain by anyone?

I honestly do not have the skillset to create a platform such as the one I am proposing so if anyone sees any value in it feel free to steal the idea.
