eth as payment help pls

okay so i know absolutely nothing about cryptocurrency and stuff, but i just got paid1 ETH. as i dont know anything abt crypto, i want it in cash (specifically, to paypal). do i convert it somehow??? i got it sent to me on this network thingy (metamask). is it safe to keep it there or should i stash it somehow??? is there a place to stash these things somehow??? pls help
