How does a decentralized API platform differ from decentralized oracles?

One thing I’ve noticed lately is an increase in decentralized API platforms. These platforms say that they allow developers to access data from multiple blockchains – but how does that differ from something like Chainlink or Band Protocol?

AFAIK, it serves the same function as a blockchain oracle. I’m not an expert on this by any means (I’m currently learning some blockchain dev stuff now and stumbled upon this decentralized APIs) but I can’t see a difference. Purely by the fact that they seem to be a newer development, methinks that they are the new tech in town and worth looking into.

Are they like oracles 2.0 or something? Are there any downsides?
