Is it possible for DeFi hacks to be completely prevented?

In December of 2021 I lost all my money in a wallet hack. $20k in all. Might not seem like much but that was everything to me. I now understand all the McDonald memes on crypto twitter LOL. It greatly affected me and got me interested in Web3 security. I know we have Ledgers and all but what if I am active on-chain? I came across this article that has some nice ways to stay safe through biometrically secured wallets and Zk-enhanced privacy. I’m pretty sure at least 1 in every 10 active people on-chain has gotten their funds stolen. I mean, isn’t it ludicrous that in 2021 alone more than $14 billion was lost in DeFi protocol hacks and wallet attacks. Have you ever been hacked? How are you staying safe on-chain right now?
