Understanding GAS frees

Hi folks,

I hope you're well. Far from an easy 20 months, that's for sure. I realize this question is noobish, but I genuinely cannot find an answer that I can comprehend.

I'm finding it difficult to understand gas fees. I'm hoping to learn how to make transactions when gas fees are lowest, but I do not know how to go about figuring this out.

Is there a service that indicates the average cheapest day/time to make transactions on the Ethereum network?
