ENS Gas fees

I'm trying to register a name on ENS. I don't understand why the gas fees are so high. Looking at their stats: https://dune.xyz/makoto/-eth-registration-funnel

Looking in the top right – commit and register both show fairly low gas prices but I'm on the 3rd step and recommended gas is like 0.026649ETH. Can someone explain this to me? (I'm a newb, in case you couldn't tell)
