NVIDIA 3050
The 3050 officially has been released with a release date of January 27th. Link
TLDR; it’s TDP is 130 watts and has 8gb of memory. Starting at $250, will the new 3050 be worth it for mining with the upcoming POS and halving?
Rivaling the 1660 super, the previous king of low TDP mining, it has 2gb more memory then it’s predecessor. The 6600XT was the new card at the table, being another low power card. Over a $100 higher than the MSRP of the 3050, it soon got ran out of contention as the price slowly rises.
The 3050 seems to be a new card with greta potential for everyone. Even with the fogginess of the future of mining, I believe it will be worth it. If ETH goes to go POS in June, The card will still be worth it as it will probably make $2 a day(assuming $.1 per KW). The ROI will be 125 days.
The 3050 seems to be running from the crown of the low power mining cards, and seems to have a good chance at taking it.
Some questions to end it off: For more advanced people on this subreddit, what do you guys predict the hashrate to be on kawpow giving by its stats? Will this card be worth going after?
